It was a lovely sunny day...

in Whanganui where I spent the day in a conference room.
Two hours north, at home it looked like this all day.

And what happens if you spend too much time outside in this? You end up looking damp and disgruntled.

The Bach!

I forgot to show you the flying bach after it landed! Here it is in our exhibition space. The panels inside fold down to reveal beds, table and kitchen. The shower is at this end so you can't see it. Look closely at the roof and you will see how close a squeek it was to slide it into the space

and here is the official blurb with a bit more information.

My moment of fame

In the museum these are the labels that you normally see.

But from last week there are a whole bunch of new ones that have popped up. The original blue one above is in the bottom corner, the new orange one is in the middle of the picture.

And here it is close up - written by me!

That's what makes these special, they are all done by staff. They won't be up for too long either, there are plans to replace them in about 6 months with more staff labels and some conributed by the public too.

Cousens cousins

A small selection - cousins, partners, children and one uncle.

Back...
and front (thanks to a passer-by)

post brunch on the waterfront at Napier. We don't get together very often so it was wonderful to have so many of us in one spot.

Klassic Kiwi Kai

French Onion dip.
Sooo 70's, sooo simple and yet sooo fabulous.
2 ingredients, mixed in a bowl and put in the fridge for 12hrs then...

add dipping implement of your choice. Yum!

How did you spend the first day of 2011?

Laundry!!!

Trust me, after 5 weekends in a row either away or tipping down rain, this is an exciting moment. Good thing I have enough linen to sleep a house full and the ability to dry emergency washing on airers Chinese Laundry style.

Funky yogurt

Really, who would have thought we would ever see the day when the hardest supermarket decision was yogurt. After much pondering I have become a fan of The Collective.

Fab flavours (including Choc Fudge which I haven't tried yet). Then you take the lid off...

Says it all really. And they are right, it's great dairy and all from cows!
