Treats

It’s been a big week. Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori/ Māori Language Week and Suffrage Day commemorating the Petition for women to vote being presented to parliament. One consistent thing about celebrations like this is kai/food so as a purely accidental result this was dinner on Friday...

Hangi (which tasted way better than it looks)

And a camellia biscuit (symbol of the Suffrage movement) for dessert

It’s Up!

Our weaving project is up in it’s new home and this morning it was officially blessed and named Whetūrangi, Starry Sky.

It’s impossible to get all 48 pieces into a single photo and it doesn’t do any justice to the detail of each one but as a group we were buzzing, thrilled and amazed with how it has all come together.

Scanning In

We’ve been in Level 2 for a while and will be for a while longer. Apart from masks that means scanning in. Everywhere.

Including on the bus

Level 2 Version 2

Technically we’ve been in Level 1 for the past couple of months, that looks pretty much like normal life but with closed borders. As of Wednesday we’re back to Level 2 with Auckland at Level 3 because of a virus outbreak. This time, even though we’ve been here before, it’s a little different too.  The main difference so far? This...

With a bit of practice I can now sort out my hair, glasses, earrings and mask combo - no simple task!  Also wearing a big shout out to national treasure Dr Siouxie Wiles, microbiologist and fabulous science communicator.

Work from home arrangements have also resumed although I’ll be back in the office next week.

Under the Weather

It’s been a bit of a week. I’ve had a bad cold which meant a couple of days off work. Poppy has been in the wars and is now on extra meds and minus her last remaining canine tooth. Most of the contents of my sofa side table are for her, poor thing.
And Huia?  She’s just fine.
