Small Reward

For some reason this last week has felt odd. Nothing I can put my finger on, just odd and a bit exhausting. So a fluro bandaid for my first ever flu jab feels like a little flash of happiness.

In Storage

More windows have arrived, this time for the bedrooms and have taken over the garage. Installation starts in a few weeks and should be way quicker than the last lot.

Double Duty

I had a cunning plan.

After lockdown one of the things I finally did was replace my third hand, very old, very non-functioning sewing machine.

At Christmas I finally got myself sorted with a proper desk and chair for working from home.

The plan? By buying a desk that’s more of a table and a sewing machine that’s simple and light my ‘office’ space could do double duty.

Tada!

Travelling!

First time on a plane since lockdown!!  So ridiculously exciting; the shuttle, getting my boarding pass, security scan, the whole thing. And why?  Six days away up north with six weavers.

We were on the Hokianga at the invitation of the artist we worked with on the Waitohi installation.

The weather and location were fantastic.

ANZAC Day Dawn Service at Whirinaki.

Lots and lots of weaving.

Boxed and Bundled

 Huia

And Poppy who is a little more ‘under cover’. That bump in the middle of the photo is one snuggled up cat.

A Walk in the Bush

A weaving day with not much weaving. We were at one of the weaver’s house so there were walks around the property, lots of food, talk and cups of tea. Just what we all needed.

Relaxing

This is obviously the only reason I have my weaving set up (on the ironing board) in the living room.

Also note in the background my attempt to not have a diet consisting entirely of hot cross buns this weekend. That’s avocado on toast in case you can’t make it out.
