Going Down

The building site next to work is a hive of activity and absolute heaven for construction geeks. Because it’s going to be super high spec there’s still a long way to go down before they start going up. Action to gently sink some pretty serious column surrounds generated more vibrations than usual and drew an appreciative audience.

Spot the difference.

My Favourite Season

It’s feijoa season!!!  I no longer have a tree of my own but feijoa season is like lemon season, bags of fruit start appearing everywhere; the kitchen at work, weaving night, on your back doorstep. No need for a sign or a note, everyone understands they are free for the taking and there will be more.

Three Skies

It was the autumn equinox this week and the weather has been all sorts of unpredictable but the skies have been amazing.

Monday morning
Wednesday morning
And Thursday evening.

Definitely Not

So I did my first RAT this week and another one today, just to be on the safe side. Negative all the way means my snuffles are annoying but definitely seasonal sinus.

Bonus was ordering online (because symptoms) then going to the local testing centre to collect.

The hot pink 1XE on my window is actually BX1 for 1 box of RATs, handed over with careful instructions on following all the instructions in the box and a double check of what to do if positive.

What?

I worked from home most of last week and we were interviewing for new staff so a lot of zoom meetings with the same people. I work in my spare room where I’m slowly building up a ‘Victorian’ wall, the more is more school of decorating, so this is what I look like…

One of my lovely colleagues finally asked if I had a set of knuckle dusters on my wall (circled in red).

No, dear reader, I do not! They are a row of owls with diamonte eyes that I’ve had since forever and have finally made it out of a treasure box and on to a wall.

Perfect Storm

This is an intersection not far from home that has become the perfect storm. It’s Saturday morning…

There’s cricket (in the background)…

The queue for the local COVID testing centre…
And Saturday level traffic from the local big hardware store, which is why I was there.
