Being Productive

Last weekend was a long weekend and our annual weavers trip away. We were back to our original venue and had some new people with us for the first time which was great. Lots of work done and conversations had.

Back To It

Back to work but more importantly back to weaving.

Quiet Start

After an eventful 2024 it’s been a nice quiet start to 2025 to the point of not having any photos to share. The weather has been changeable and is currently blowing a cold southerly. I’ve gotten various little jobs done mainly focused on making spare rooms habitable for guests later in the month.

Inspired

This week a small group of the weavers headed to Hamilton Museum to attend the opening of He Aa I Uta, He Aa I Tai, an exhibition of weaving from members of the National Weavers Association. Two of us had work accepted and it was wonderful to be there and see it amongst so much amazing talent. Lots and lots of inspiration for future projects and great to reconnect with weavers from the big hui last year. A rather uplifting end to what most agree has been a pretty crappy year.

Blooming (Almost)

The Pōhutukawa in my back yard and the Rata on the street are just starting to flower. At some point very soon they will literally burst into colour.

Changes

Big changes afoot at work which has made it a very weird week. Change of season too so the perfect time for a bit of this…
